Objectives of the Study
The main objective of this project is providing a two-shaft table loom to the Department of Fine and Applied Arts University of Benin for the production of woven fabrics.
The project is aimed a adding a new Two – shaft table loom to the available ones in the Department of Fine And Applied Arts University of Benin for the students to work with in order to reduce the stress inadequate loom for both students and the lecturers.
The specific objectives are to:

Definition of Loom
A loom is a machine used in weaving fabrics from yarn or other fibres. A woven fabric produced on a loom is made by interlacing two sets of threads at right angles. The longitudinal threads are called the warp, and the transverse threads are called the weft otherwise known as filling. Microsoft Encarta 2009.

This chapter gives a detailed account of the step by step activity that was carried out in order to actualise this project. This chapter also explains the method used in carrying out this project. The materials, tools and equipment used in this project are listed below.
CHAPTER FOUR
DESCRIPTIVE ANALYSIS OF THE PROJECT AND END-USE
This chapter describes the woven fabric weaving and discusses the end use with visuals for the purpose of clarity.
Weaving Preparation
Before embarking on weaving, certain things must be put in place.
- NOTE: Before anything, your loom must be ready and in a good condition.
- The accessories must be intact because if anyone should get missing, it may lead to delay and in most cases stop the whole idea of weaving.
- The materials must be ready as listed in chapter 3 of this
- There must be a warping mill.
Step 1: Locate your warping mill and tie your warp thread to the warping mill. Take it down and take it up in a reversed manner to create a cross between the warp threads. This will make the thread flow up and down.
Reason: This cross is what will help the weft thread to interlace with the warp thread when weaving starts. Next is the insertion of shed sticks
CHAPTER FIVE
Conclusion
In a bid to solve the problem of insufficient facilities in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts University of Benin the research came about. Therefore the research is about the provision of a two-shaft table loom to the students of the department. Loom is a necessity in this department especially to textile students and lecturers because it aids learning process and also help lecturers to teach without stress and students will also be able to practice what they have learnt in class. Moreover, this researcher also went into production of contemporary male apparel with the woven fabric gotten from the loom. Weaving is an aspect of art that should be embraced because of its numerous advantages so I recommend this research project for students who want to delve into Art and even those who are already in the art community. It is my hope that this attempt would be appreciated by students of this department as this would enhance their academic and personal skills.
Nevertheless, any suggestion to make this project a better one would be highly appreciated.
