REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Apostolic Church

Subsequent to the affiliation with the British Apostolic Church (BAC), the F.T. adopted the name apostolic Church. This affiliation also necessitated the second ordination of F.T. ministers (who had earlier on been ordained by FTC by proxy). To solidify the relationship, two missionaries of the BAC, George Perfect and Idris Vaughan arrived as resident pastors on 22nd July, 1932. In conformity with the demand of the Nigerian congregation, the missionaries made personal contacts with the British Government authorities. Through these efforts the high handedness of the government was relaxed. Babalola was released to continue his evangelistic work and the way was paved for the establishment of new assemblies, schools and open-air gospel campaigns of the Apostolic Church (Mala, 1983).

Conclusion

The level of porosity and erosion of morality in Nigeria is quite disheartening and unfortunate. Worse still the youths are the most hit of the hydra-headed cancerous menace. This could be attributed among other factors to the poor moral and sociopolitical structure and system of the Nigerian society. Considering the indispensability of the youths in every optimistic human society, it becomes imperative that those values, virtues, norms and code of conduct without which human co-existence could be considered impossible should be inculcated in the youths. The influence of the social environment on the youths cannot be argued. Therefore, there is a need to catch the youths young and impact in them basic moral tips and principles of the society. This would go a long way to checkmate moral decadence among the youths. The Apostolic church considers the youths as the greatest legacy that could be bequeathed to mankind and the Apostolic church project is aimed at the formation and realization of quality human beings. This work, challenges individuals, industrialists, Non Governmental Organizations (NGO‟s) and the government to be more proactive to the welfare of the youths. The state can help by tightening its belt and living up to expectations so as to ensure sound moral education that will not only benefit the youths but also the entire human race. There is a need to encourage moral education, establish skill acquisition centres and by so doing give a sense of direction to the youths for the realization of a morally sound and formidable Nigerian society.

Recommendation

Churches should take it as a point of duty to preach and oriented youth about immoral behavior that God not friendly with any body who acted this way
