CHAPTER ONE
Objectives of the studyย ย ย ย
The main objective of this study is to examine the factors enhancing job performance of in-service Senior Security Management Trainee at National Institute of Security Studies (NISS), Abuja, Using Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
The specific objectives include the following:
- To examine the impact of emotional intelligence on job performance among in-service Senior Security Management Trainee at National Institute of Security Studies (NISS), Abuja.
- To examine the impact of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy on job performance among in-service Senior Security Management Trainee at National Institute of Security Studies (NISS), Abuja.
CHAPTER TWO
Definition of terms
For the purpose of clarification and understanding of this study, some concepts require operational definition.
Emotional Intelligence: the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.
Job satisfaction: This is the measurement of oneโs total feelings and attitudes towards oneโs job.
Labour Turnover: This is the movement of workers out of the employment of an organization, perhaps as a result of job related frustration of organizations operations.
Motivation: This is the process of activating, sustaining and directing work related behaviours of employees in such a way as to facilitate simultaneous realization of their goals alongside organizational objective.
